Drone (UAS)

Our UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) complements VSAR operations with specialized capabilities that enable day and night aerial drone searching for subjects, on and off trails.  The speed and agility of drones used by the VSAR Drone Team can fly to known coordinates and start searching with live video transmitted to the Base or the deployment location of the Drone, its Remote Operator, and Visual Observer. Drone teams may provide patrol searches and area reconnaissance. Video and Photo media may be used for documentation, mission evaluation, training, and archiving. All UAS Remote Operators have FAA Part 107 certification and follow FAA rules and regulations pertaining to UAS flight.
