Our K9 search unit complements search and rescue operations with specialized capabilities that enable searching suitable areas with certified, operational SAR dogs. VSAR K9s will be deployed when lost or deceased subjects are believed or known to be in areas acceptable for the SAR dog and Handler Team capabilities and where the unique specialized capabilities of trained SAR dogs may complement the search efforts. VSAR K9s may provide Live Area (both non-scent and scent specific), Human Remains Detection, Trailing, and Article searches in accordance with nationally recognized certifications specific to the individual SAR dog and Handler Team.
