Who we are
How We Help
VSAR assists Yavapai County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) with search and rescue operations to assist those that are lost or need assistance, day or night, 7 days/week. Most commonly we assist:
- hikers that are lost or need help;
- climbers that get stuck in a steep or mountainous area;
- families who have lost their way;
- those with dementia or Alzheimer’s that have wandered from home.
Trained and Ready
Our all-volunteer Posse is state-certified. We’re trained and ready to quickly respond when requested by YCSO. We are a search and rescue team, with multiple search capabilities, who the Sheriff's office asks for assistance when a 911 call comes in from Yavapai County. We provide service at no cost to those we are helping.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and receive funding from donations and grants. AZ State funds have provided rescue equipment to VSAR.
We are dedicated to assisting hikers and those in need in our community. Your contribution today provides funding for safety gear, search and rescue equipment, and training costs for VSAR members.
