Mountain Bike (MBU)

Our mountain bike unit complements VSAR operations with specialized capabilities that enable searching suitable trails with cycling agility and speed. VSAR MBU is deployed when lost subjects are believed or known to be in areas acceptable for mountain bike travel and where rapid deployment for search and rescue services and initial medical assessments may be needed. VSAR MBU may provide patrol searches, area reconnaissance, assistance to subjects, and report findings to the Base via radio communications.
